Care at Solara
Psychiatric Initial Evaluation
A 60-minute comprehensive evaluation where we carefully assess your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, and goals for care. Together we will determine whether medication is an appropriate intervention, review treatment options, and create a plan tailored to your needs. Referrals for additional support will be provided as needed.
Medication Management and Supportive Psychotherapy
Thirty or forty-five minute follow-up sessions after your initial evaluation, focused on monitoring medications, addressing any side effects, and providing supportive psychotherapy as needed. These sessions are collaborative and responsive to your evolving needs.
Women’s Mental Health Consultation
A one-time, 60-minute consultation for women who are already working with a prescribing provider but are seeking a second opinion or insight from a specialist in perinatal or reproductive mental health. This session includes a thorough review of current symptoms, relevant psychiatric and medical history, and treatment goals. I will provide clinical recommendations to support your ongoing care, such as guidance on diagnosis, treatment options, or medication strategies and a written summary of impressions that can be shared with your existing provider upon request.
Please note: This consultation does not establish ongoing care at Solara. It is ideal for second opinions, diagnostic clarification, or support during transitional phases of treatment.
My Approach to Medication Management
At Solara, I view psychiatric medication as one part of a comprehensive, personalized treatment plan. Medication can play a valuable role in improving mood stability, reducing distressing symptoms, and enhancing overall functioning; however, it is never the sole focus of care.
During our sessions we will have an open, collaborative discussion about whether medication is appropriate based on your history, current symptoms, and treatment goals. I will review the risks, benefits, and evidence-based considerations for each potential intervention and provide space for you to ask questions, express preferences, and voice concerns.
When medication is indicated, I follow a conservative and responsive prescribing approach and monitor you closely for side effects, adjusting the plan as needed over time. My goal is to ensure you feel informed, supported, and in control of your treatment decisions, and to create a safe, respectful, and therapeutic space where psychiatric care remains collaborative, transparent, and attuned to your evolving needs.
